R&B star Beyonce has postponed a planned concert in Malaysia after the nation’s opposition Islamist party raised concerns about her performance, citing moral issues.
The US singer, known for her provocative dance routines, was due to perform in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
But, following protests by the Pan Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), the concert has now been indefinitely postponed.
‘We are not against entertainment, but it’s the way she performs – her gyrating moves on stage and her sexy outfits,’ PAS youth chief Nasruddin Hassan Tantawi said.
‘It will erode the moral values of our young people.’
