So this very first post is dedicated to a SON, FATHER, and FRIEND , Corey McGriff aka DJ Megatron? who was shot and killed near his home in Staten Island. He was 32 years old.

Megatron also called Mega was a former co-worker of mine, friend and LION HEART affiliate?at Hot97, Mega started at HOT97 as board op for FatMan Scoop and later when scoop moved on to mid days Mega was Blessed with the over night shift 12a to 5a. I remember seeing mega everyday as i came in to prep for the Miss Jones in The Morning Show when i was just getting started as a producer assistant.?He always had some positive advice for me and always checked in with me to see how i was doing and made sure i was staying positive, Fast forward 6yrs later?he was now working at BET as a corespondant and 106 and park crowd mover!. He was Literally the most humble and Ginuwine person you would ever meet and i was blessed to have shared a friendship with him.

Early Sun Morning (3.27.11)?on a cold Staten Island Street Mega was Gunned Down by?an unknown?suspect… one bullet to his torso claimed his life and have left many in disbelief and asking why! The news came to many as a blow to the head i remember waking up checking my emails, text and twitter to come across a news post with Mega’s?name and death?as the headline i froze in shock and immediately reached out to fellow friends and coworkers to try and get a confirmation on what i was reading, sadly it was true. Megatron may be gone but will never be forgotten 8.11 True Lion Heart 4 Life.
