R.A.R.E. Media Group presents: Start It Up! Bone Marrow Drive and Benefit Concert in memory of Shannon Tavarez.
Shannon Tavarez, whom some may remember as Young Nala on Broadway?s The Lion King, was a beautiful and talented girl who passed away due to AML Leukemia in early November. Leukemia is a malignant cancer of the bone marrow and blood. About 43,050 adults and 3,317 children were expected to develop leukemia in 2010 alone. ?January 20, 2011 would have been Shannon?s 12th birthday.
On January 16, 2011, we?ve partnered with DKMS, the largest bone marrow center in the world, to carry on her legacy by registering potential bone marrow donors to save lives while enjoying performances from talented singers, rappers and dancers. From ?So You Think You Can Dance? finalists to Underground Award nominees, these performers are passionate and willing to share their talents to support such a great cause. It will be a day to remember!
The cost is FREE with a suggested $5 donation at the door of which proceeds will go to Shannon?s S.H.A.R.E. Foundation.
Start It Up! is a program that promotes awareness and taking action for issues affecting our community and daily lives while integrating the arts.
COME AND SUPPORT!!! SPREAD THE WORD!!!
