1.First and foremost the name, why the ILLIANCE?

We picked the name, The iLLiance because we felt like it was the best way to sum us up.? We?re an alliance, and as a team, we are ill. When we work together, the chemistry we have, helps us take everything above and beyond how we would approach it as individuals.

2.For how long have you both been rhyming, did you always know you wanted to be MCs and how did ya’ll unite’?

We?ve been rhyming together for over 10 years now. Sincere started rapping around the age of 9 and Montana started recording when he was 12. Montana introduced Sincere to recording with presence on the microphone and Sincere helped Montana improve his lyrics. By helping each other with what we lacked, it made us both grow twice as fast. At first, we both started off thinking that we?d become athletes. That all went out the window when we fell in love with hip hop. The first time we rapped together a mutual friend tried to get us to battle. After that, we realized we both had skill, and if we combined our talents we would be unstoppable.

3.What separates you guys from other hungry up and coming unsigned artist?

?What makes us different from other unsigned artists is our passion for rap. Not saying that they don?t love it, but we?re in it to make classic music. We respect the art form and have learned the craft to the point where we?ve mastered our style. We operate out of our own studio ran by super-producer/engineer Alcatrakz (www.alcatrakz.com) Also, our work ethic is really unparalleled. We release a song every tuesday on www.theilliance.net? and have independently put out numerous videos with upcoming directors Jon Bertorelli and Daniel Livschitz of Vulpine films (www.vulpinefilms.com)

4.Coming up as a youth and as a fan of hip hop who and what where some of your inspirations?

Sincere: ? I always liked music and writing so hearing artist like Wu-Tang or Biggie made me want to try and put words together.? Montana: ?I started listening to Hip Hop in the mid 90?s, a time period where you had to be nice in order to be heard. Big L was a major influence on me. He definitely inspired my style and how I write rhymes…..I even bit some of his bars when I first started rapping, Haha ?

5.When in the studio, your apartment, street, where ever you lay down your rhymes what helps you focus? do you have a ritual before you write?

Well, we?ve been doing this for over a decade now, so when it comes to writing, it doesn?t really matter where we are. As long as we have a pen and pad, our ability to create is limitless. The only ritual that we do prior to writing, is organize the layout of the track from the verses to the chorus.

6.Whats one word that best describes you as an artist (individually) and why?

Montana: ?If I had to choose one word that describes me as an artist it would have to be persistent. I am relentless and I do not take NO for an answer. When it comes to my dream, I will stop at nothing to live it.” Sincere: “One word to describe me is, White. Haha. Thats the first thing that you’re going to see when you look at me, even though it doesn’t define me as an artist. It sets me apart from most of my competition and makes me have to work harder. “

7. If you could have a collaboration with anyone, past or present who would it be and why?

I guess if we could pick one collaboration with anyone it would have to be Pac. His grind and rate at which he made music was unheard of. Both of us would have loved to experience that, and learn first hand how to be as relevant and efficient as he was.

8. if you where to get signed, what label would be the ideal house for you?

Honestly, with the way the internet is affecting the industry and how its playing a major role in the marketing and promotion of artists, we would rather take the independent route. Now a days you are able to interact and reach your fans like never before. With technology taking over, all these social networks and blog sites are becoming the new outlet for artists to release music, therefore changing the game. But If the paperwork and the deal was right, we’d want to sign with Interscope hands down.

9.Describe your ideal first LP, what would it consist of, content wise, what would set that album apart from all the music currently out?

An ideal first LP would be something that you can play front to back without ever skipping a track! Something timeless, that you can still listen to 15 years later. It would consist of a constant mood, that would let people experience and feel what we felt while we were writing it. What would set it apart from the current music is the objective for artists now is to create hit records, rather then albums. Ours is the exact opposite.

10.If you had one message you could leave to the general public with about yourself and your work as a duo what would you want them to know?

A friend of ours told us , “Success is when preparation meets opportunity.” With all the preparation we’ve done in the last couple of years, it’s only a matter of time before we discover that opportunity, and the hard pays off. We’re prepared for our future and excited to live our dreams. We want to thank all of our fans who voted for us, we love yall! Also, we want to give a big shout out to J Medina for giving us this interview. Can’t forget STRONG ISLAND and the whole entire In Debt Entertainment family.
